Pet ID tags
Proper identification can sometimes be
the only thing that ensures your pet’s
safe return to you in times of travel. Prior
to your move, you should have new identification
tags made for your pet that reflect your
new address and other contact information.
Identification tags may also be required
according to the laws of certain states,
so you will need to be prepared to comply
with those laws when relocating. Special
tags may reflect your pets’ compliance
with required immunizations and other health
measures, so plan ahead and have your pet
prepared for arrival in a new community.
If you will be making several stops along
the way, be sure that your pet is wearing
identification that reflects the proper contact
information for each location.
A new form of identification is available
in implanted microchips. Your veterinarian
can give you information about this identification
tag, which can be especially helpful in the
case of your pet’s getting lost during
a move.
