Checklist for car travel
-Familiarize your pet with its travel carrier
prior to the trip.
-Put favorite toys and familiar blankets
in the crate.
-Remember to pack your pet’s medication
if it has been prescribed, and to administer
tranquilizers or sedatives according to the
veterinarian’s instructions.
-Don’t feed your pet for at least
three hours prior to departure to prevent
carsickness.
-Make sure that your pet is wearing its
collar and identification tags prior to departure.
Up to date rabies tags and identification
with your new information should be worn
at all times.
-Pack a pet travel kit including food,
water, dishes, can opener, leash, treats,
toys, and bedding for the trip. Also remember
to bring plastic bags, scoopers, and any
other items necessary for taking care of
your pet’s waste disposal.
