Moving to Nebraska
Picture in your mind the peaceful serenity of wide open spaces, and cities with world class culture, and you have Nebraska. Nebraska is a Great Plains State, part of the large, mostly flat, grassland prairie in the center of the continent. Ranching is a way of life with many ranches sprawling over 100,000 acres each. The state song is "Beautiful Nebraska," and nature’s beauty is everywhere you look. The Niobrara River is one of the country’s top canoeing rivers with over 90 waterfalls. The country mouse and the city mouse will both love Nebraska. For the city dweller, Omaha boasts sports, symphony, dining and shopping.
Nebraska became the 37th state on March 1st, 1867. With an area of 77,358 square miles, Nebraska is the 16th biggest state in the USA. Its population of 1.7 million (as of 2000) makes it the 38th most populous state. Major industries are farming (corn, soybeans, wheat, sorghum), grain processing, and meat-packing. More varieties of grass grow in Nebraska than in any other state. Nebraska is a land of variety that you will love to call home.
Now that you are moving to Nebraska, impress your friends and family with this Nebraska knowledge:

The State Soft Drink is Kool-Aid. (Ohhhh yeah!)
Nebraska was once called "The Great American Desert." The Sand Hills are the biggest grass-covered sand dunes in the Western Hemisphere. They cover about one-fourth of the state. Only the Sahara and the Arabian deserts have bigger areas of sand.
The 9-1-1 system of emergency communications, now used nationwide, was developed and first used in Lincoln.
State Motto: "Equality before the law."
